A Cameroonian woman clinging for her dear life at sea in Libya was on Tuesday rescued by aid workers of the Spanish Non Governmental Organisation, Proactiva Open Arms.
Josepha, 40, was found in a state of hypothermia alongside the corpse of a woman and a child, the aid workers said.
According to the Agence France Presse, rescue workers from the Open Arms intervened after being informed of a troubled boat in the Meditteranean waters. The were informed by Libyan coast guards who were unable to provide assistance to the boast.
However, the Spanish NGO has since accused the the coast guards for abandoning the women and the young boy after it emerged over 158 persons were rescued off the waters in Khoms sime 16 miles from where the women were trapped.
