This is SO sweet!
Njukang Asong‘s daughter Khloe is only one-year-old.
Still, Asong isn’t waiting until she’s older to impart pearls of wisdom onto his daughter.
The doting Cameroonian dad wrote an inspiring letter on behalf of himself and his wife, to his baby girl from healthy and unhealthy competition to dreaming big.
He also attached a picture of beauty Khloe and his wife, which you can see (below).
His post has touched a lot of people, and it isn’t hard to see why when you read some of what he wrote. It will seriously touch your heart.
Check out the entire letter and have your own heart touched…
A Letter to Our Daughter
Today, you turn one and words cannot describe the happiness, love and sense of fulfillment you’ve brought to our lives. You transformed our house to a home and changed our names to Daddy and Mummy. Your smile melts our heart and your hugs are so warm and comforting. Your Mum and I Love God and have always tried to live by His teachings; however, watching you develop at every stage from your first cry at 1:29pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 to your first steps, have given us a new found meaning into God’s amazing grace and wonders in us and for us.
You are born into a world better than what we met. We were fortunate to be raised by parents who toiled day and night to provide us with the best education they could afford and, instilled in us values that have shaped our lives into who we are today – the values of hard work, discipline, self-reliance, empathy, family and faith in things unseen. God has made us your custodians; to raise you up according to His word. We pray we never derail from our responsibilities as your parents and role models. We promise to honor our duty as parents with all He has blessed us with to give you a life worthy of our Heavenly Father, and to imbibe in you, the same values we were thought by our parents. To love you and cater for you, to educate you and challenge your potentials, to listen to you and support your dreams, to laugh, play and pray with you and most importantly, to always tell you the truth.
The world is full of good and evil, rich and poor, healthy and unhealthy competition. The decisions you make at every point in your life will shape your experiences, perception and outlook for life. There will always be someone ahead of you and behind you. We pray your mantra is to wake-up everyday to be a better version of yourself; and to have an insatiable quest to be the best. Put God first in all you do, keep learning, dream bigger and never settle; stay humble, generous and grateful for who and what you are. Love and respect yourself first so you can truly love, respect and treat others with dignity.
Technology has connected people and ideas, and has arguably increased or reduced the socio-economic gap. These phenomena would exponentially increase as you grow old. Technology is a force of good and bad. Be careful with what you write, upload, post and/or share on social media or whatever new platform still to be developed. Create and/or use technology to teach, inspire and improve lives positively.
You are an American by birth and a Cameroonian by heritage. Most importantly you are a citizen of the world. We pray you do your due diligence to leave a positive blue print on the lives of the people God puts along your path. Strive to be a voice to recon with through a life of service to mankind. Always remember that you can only realize your true potential when you tie your dreams to something larger than yourself.
Be guided by John Wesley’s Rule of Life – “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as you ever can”.
Khloe, this is our prayer to you and your unborn siblings. Your life is full of promise, and we hope you will be happy and healthy so you can explore it fully. We wish you and your unborn siblings a life of love, happiness and joy more than what you have brought to ours.
