Charlie Sheen accused of passing HIV to his gay lover during sex

RadarOnline reports that the 51-year-old actor could be facing some serious jail time after being accused of passing HIV to a male partner during sex.

According to the celebrity gossip rag, the man, whose identity is being withheld, was able to trace his infection back to a tryst he had with Sheen. Now, he’s purportedly suing.

Under California law, it’s illegal for an HIV-positive person to engage in consensual sex without a condom if there is intent to transmit the virus. If he’s found guilty of doing this, Sheen could be sentenced up to eight years behind bars, in addition to fines and court fees.

“Sheen could be on the hook for millions,” New York City attorney Peter Gleason tells Radar. “You’re talking about pain and suffering, mental anguish and future medical costs.”

Sheen came out publicly as HIV-positive back in 2015 during an interview with the Today Show. At the time, he said the diagnosis was a “turning point” in his life and claimed that he had paid millions of dollars to blackmailers over the years who had threatened to reveal his status.

Also in 2015, Sheen settled out of court with a man who claimed the actor gave him herpes during a gay romp in 2011.

Sheen has yet to comment on this latest reported lawsuit.
