Kinnaka’s Blog has learned that on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in the early afternoon that the Bishop of Bafia (Center-Cameroon), Jean-Marie Balla, allegedly committed suicide Bridge of Ebebda (about 78Km from Yaoundé).
According to www.237online.com, he left a suicide note in his car, which read, “I am in the Water”. His body has not yet been found.
In 2003, Jean Marie Benoît Bala was appointed head of this diocese, representing more than three hundred thousand inhabitants, including nearly two hundred thousand Catholics and 21 priests.
Bishop Jean Marie Benoît Bala was born in May 1959 in Oweng Mbalmayo. He is from Mbankomo, Central Region.
He studied Philosophy and Theology at the Major Seminary of Nkolbisson, and holds a degree in Social Sciences and Management.
He was ordained a priest in 1987 by Bishop Jean Zoa.
